This term Year 4/5 will be following the Cornerstones theme Scream Machine.

Roll up, roll up!

The children will be learning all about theme parks, designing their own theme park and learning how roller coasters stay on their tracks when turning upside down. We will incorporate this exciting topic into our English lessons and create shape poems and leaflets based on theme parks.

Help your child prepare for their project in Scream Machine.

The children will learn the secrets of theme park design and how their favourite rides work. Why not look at toys with moving parts at home, to see if you can find out how they work? You could also research famous theme parks around the world online. Which are the most popular rides? Alternatively, you could research Walt Disney’s successful theme parks. Where in the world are they?

Physical Education lessons will be held on Mondays. Pupils are expected to change into their PE kits. Please ensure that all items of clothing are labelled.

Homework will be given on a Friday and should be returned by Monday.

Reading books are to be returned daily.

Times tables need to be revised every night.
